Very nice article.

I like how it is pretty much a check list to how to figure out if you have a virus. Easy for people to understand.

I promise to do my best. Tell me what would you like me to write about it you have any specific topics you're interested in.

Hi Shelly

Sounds like a possible virus to me, if you have antivirus software on your computer I would recommend that you boot into safe mode F8 on startup and run a full virus scan to see if anything is detected.

If the computer or laptop runs slower and slower over a period of time it is always worth checking for a virus, at Infotech Services we usally remove the hard drive and scan through externally to check for the virus as they don't always show up when you do a scan from the computer or laptop while its running.

The problem is that almost all the points are a "normal" behavior in a Windows OS computer that has not been re-installed (the SOs) during the last 12 months: 'Slow', due to a lot of services that you don't know that are running; 'no one's home', due to a malfunctioning of any "free-software" you have recently installed;... and so on.
I always think of doctors when you are ill and they don't know which desease you have. The answer is always: "it's a virus".
Most of "computers lovers" say the same, and then people is always thinking that their computers are infected...and probably not.

hey, that was a great post , let me add some more info, anti virus program gives total security to your computer but not to the user , if a user clicks on the link/program/ accidentally clicks on it , there are very few chances thaat the anti virus program detects it , So always put your important data in professionals who knows how to and where to store data and maintain its security,
